Wikipedia may be blacked out today, but that hasn't stopped Twitter users sharing their knowledge the way they do best - by creating a hash tag meme.
In the serendipitous fashion it's renowned for, the Twitter community has created #factswithoutwikipedia to gather comment around the SOPA protest.
During the protest Wikipedia's handy facts are unavailable for at least 24 hours.
The jokes are running like a binary river, and the tag has been picked up not by the literal-minded, but by well-humoured Twitter users deliberately making a joke of how bad fact-checking is without Wikipedia.
Students are complaining that they can't do their homework, middle-aged parents everywhere are kicking themselves for throwing out their bulky library of Encycolpedia Britannica, and dictionaries are getting a leaf-through after gathering dust for eons*.
Have a look at some of the highlights below. Think you can do better? Get onto Twitter and use the #factswithouttwitter hash tag then @huffpostuktech and we'll re-tweet you.
*not literally eons.
