Amanda Holden Gives Birth To Baby Girl

Holden Gives Birth To Baby Girl But Remains In Intensive Care

Amanda Holden has given birth to a baby girl but the actress has spent three days in a "critical condition".

The Britain's Got Talent judge has been treated in an intensive care unit following her admission to hospital on Monday morning, but is now said to be stable. Her new daughter, Hollie Rose Hughes, was delivered on Monday.

Alison Griffin, spokeswoman for Amanda, 40, and her husband, Chris Hughes, said the star is expected to make a full recovery, the Press Association reported.

She said: "Hollie Rose Hughes was born on 23 January 2012. She is healthy and weighed in at 6.1lb but Amanda has been in a critical condition for the past three days.

"She is now stable and we expect her to make a full recovery very soon. We thank you for respecting their privacy at this time."

Ms Griffin said she was unable to give any further details about Amanda's medical condition at present.

"Until Amanda is in a position to indicate what she wants to say, there's no more information I can give," she said.

Holden, who was forced to pull out of BGT auditions earlier this week, already has a daughter, Lexi, but complications during that pregnancy with a low lying placenta meant she gave birth by Caesarean section.

She has had a healthy pregnancy up until now, but experienced difficulties with previous pregnancies with heartbreak just under a year ago when she had a stillborn son seven months into a pregnancy while in 2010 she suffered the ordeal of a miscarriage.
