Channel 4 is to launch a new catch-up TV channel featuring shows that have created the most "buzz".
The station - 4Seven - will launch later this year and is the broadcaster's first new service since 2005.
The new channel, which will be on all major platforms, was announced by chief executive David Abraham.
C4 already has spin-off channels E4 and More4, together with its +1 services. It went through a period of continually extending its portfolio, but later abandoned much-heralded plans to launch a set of radio stations.
The broadcaster said the new service would give viewers another chance to see the "most popular and talked about Channel 4 content from the last seven days", without having to go online to use its 4oD player.
Mr Abraham said that, despite the popularity of online catch-up services, "viewers are increasingly saying they sometimes just miss the best stuff".
He said of the new station: "It will schedule the main channel content that is creating noise - amongst social media, bloggers, commentators and of course via contact our viewers have directly with us - and incorporate this buzz into the look and feel of the channel."
Mr Abraham added: "The launch of 4Seven also supports our strategy of embracing the opportunities of connectivity, by exploring ways to deepen engagement with our viewers and expand the choices we can offer them."
