Not surprisingly, it's the first ever gaming announcement from space, and Rovio worked with Nasa to broadcast a video from

the ISS via Angrybirds.com/space.

Angry Birds Space will be available on March 22 on OS and Android, Mac and PC.

The new game features 60 interstellar levels plus:

● Regular free updates

● Brand new birds

● Brand new superpowers

● Zero-gravity space adventures

● Trick shots using planets’ gravity

● New in-app purchases for iOS

● Hidden bonus levels

● Beautifully detailed backgrounds

Rovio says the new announcement is just the start of an educational partnership between Rovio and Nasa.

David Weaver, associate administrator for communications at NASA Headquarters in Washington said: "Games are fun and entertaining, but they also can be inspirational and informative. This ongoing collaboration with Rovio and Angry Birds is an exciting way to get people engaged with Nasa's missions of exploration and discovery, and get students energised about future careers in science and technology."

The collaboration began which as a simple Twitter exchange about birds and pigs in space, and it grew into the new collaboration.

Peter Vesterbacka, CMO and Mighty Eagle of Rovio Entertainment, said: “I believe we have succeeded well with the game, and we wanted to create something as unique around our launch events. NASA has been the perfect partner for our Angry Birds Space programme."

So who's itching to play the game?
