A syndicate of bus drivers who won a staggering £38m EuroMillions jackpot will officially go public with their win today.
Charles Gillion, 64, is just one of the 12 Stagecoach drivers from Corby, Northamptonshire, who is coming to terms with his new millionaire status after winning last Friday's £38,034,639.70 jackpot.
His wife Penelope, 65, said her husband had worked for Stagecoach as a driver for five years and had planned to retire later this year.
Mrs Gillion, a retired cleaner, said the couple had been married for 45 years and that the money would be spent on their family of three children, 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
"The first thing we knew about the win was someone banging on our door at 2am on Saturday morning," she said.
She said the 12 winners had been taken away somewhere yesterday morning but would not disclose any further details.
She added: "All I know is that it's the perfect retirement present. They all deserve it and all work long shifts."
Another member of the syndicate, 57-year-old Ally Spencer, told the Sun: "I'll never work again.
"This would have been my 20th year and I have loved it. But I won't be stepping on a bus again now."
The winners will be revealed at a press conference at the Best Western Rockingham Forest Hotel in Corby, Northamptonshire, this morning.
