Camilla, Duchess Of Cornwall, Involved In The Killing (PICTURES)

The Killing Wins Royal Approval (PICTURES)

The Duchess of Cornwall's travels through Scandinavia took a theatrical turn on Tuesday when she channelled her inner Sarah Lund on the set of Danish cult crime show The Killing.

A confessed addict of the bleak crime drama, the Duchess, who has been touring the region with the Prince of Wales, saw her wish come true as she visited the set, met lead actress Sofie Grabol, who plays pathologist Sarah Lund in the show, and writer Soren Sveistrup.

Camilla was even able to take home an authentic cardigan from Lund's trademark knitwear selection and get her hands on a prop gun.

On the last day of the couple's eight-day tour of Scandivania, Camilla visited the Copenhagen set after specifically requesting to see the show in the making.

This meant trudging through a rundown scrapyard outside the city – which shocked Grabol.

"I think it is really surreal," she said, "But it's lovely that she wanted to come here.

"I told her last night to wear flat shoes. This is not really an inviting place for a royal visit."

The Duchess discussed the show at length with Grabol as well as co-star Nikolaj Kaas and Sveistrup, who revealed that the upcoming third series of The Killing will be the last.

"We have to stop while we are still good," he said.

"We don't want to repeat ourselves."
