Father Steven Dunn Convicted For Drink-Driving While On The School Run

A father of two has been convicted of drink driving for downing five cans of lager and then taking his two young sons to school.

Steven Dunn, from Stapenhill in Burton, Staffordshire, was found guilty of being more than three times the legal limit. Burton Magistrates' Court heard Dunn had consumed a "vast amount of alcohol" the night before and continued to drink the next day.

Dunn claimed he felt "fit to drive" to school to collect his six and eight-year-old sons - even though the primary school was only a 10 minute walk away.

Dunn's pregnant wife said she was "horrified".

The defendant, who pleaded guilty to drink-driving, was sentenced to a 48-month driving ban and a 12-month community order sentence.
