Designer Michael Jantzen Reimagines The Typical Home

Who Would Live In A House Like This?

Houses are boring. Come on, admit it.

Four walls, one roof, a few windows and a front door.

Like the human face, you can get attractive ones and ugly ones, but basically, they’re all the same.

Unless they’re in the hands of designer Michael Jantzen, who decided to take a series of abodes and twist their parts out of place.

The result is a series of houses we find ourselves immediately wishing we could build and live in for real, if only it weren’t for pesky planning restrictions.

Jantzen, who has exhibited at the Harvard School of Design and Architecture, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, say his aim is to ‘reinvent the built environment in order to extend the reach of consciousness’.

Does he manage it?

Take a look at these fragmented homes and tell us what you think.
