An 18-year-old has been arrested by police after going on a shooting rampage in the town of Hyvinkaa, killing two teenagers and wounding seven others.
The man was arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning after firing on civilians from a rooftop in the town in what appears to be a random attack.
A teenage girl, 18, was killed by the gunman, and one other, also aged 18, later died of their wounds sustained in the attack.
One other is in critical condition, a 23-year-old police officer who was hit as arrived at the scene.
Detective Chief Markuu Tuominen revealed that the teenager was found in camouflage clothing with two weapons, including a .308 caliber hunting rifle, and did not resist arrest.
Finland is a country with over 650,000 registered gun owners, despite a population of just over 5 million.
The country has experienced a spate of major gun crime incidents in recent years, including two school shootings which killed a total of 17 people.
In March, a 23-year-old injured his former girlfriend's father in an office building before shooting at a classroom.
No one was hurt at the school and the shooter surrendered shortly after.
