UK Weather: Britain's Glorious Clear Skies Pictured - But Get Ready For Rain

Wave Goodbye To Clear Skies

It's not something you see everyday - or even every year.

But at the University of Dundee, scientists caught a rare image of an entirely cloud-free Britain on Saturday.

The University of Dundee Satellite Receiving Station has captured a striking image showing the entire country almost completely cloud-free.

This weekend's glorious weather certainly got lots of Britons out and about but the Met Office are predicting showers on Tuesday evening and on Wednesday, with a cooler Jubilee bank holiday weekend.

MeteoGroup Forecaster Nick Prebble told the Press Association: "Many places will see sun tomorrow, with temperatures peaking at 23C (73.4F) in London. But Scotland will feel much cooler and there is a chance of a few spots of rain.

Life's a beach - but not for much longer, as the weather is set to turn stormy

"On Wednesday, northern areas of the UK will be cooler with patchy rain. Further south in Yorkshire there will be heavy rain with a few rumbles of thunder.

"Temperatures will drop off considerably during Thursday and Friday with heavy showers across England and Wales. The highest temperature will be around 19C (66.2F) in London.

"There is no indication that the recent fine temperatures will continue into the weekend unfortunately, with maximum temperatures of 15-16C."
