If you've been outside of late anywhere an advertising hoarding, chances are you've seen the massive billboard posters of Go Compare's very own opera singer, Gio Compario (played by Welsh singer Wynn Evans), spray painted with derogatory comments and suggestions that he "jumps off a cliff" and the like.
Well, as his speech bubble in said adverts told us, the TV commercial that accompanies the campaign has arrived on our tellies, and so now our computer monitors - and it's really rather weird.
Not weird in a singing-to-an-island-castaway-about-insurance-premiums weird, but weird in a Sue-Barker-firing-a-rocket-into-his-face way. Of course. As you do.
From the looks of things, this Compario assassination gag is going to have legs - and maybe, just maybe, Britain will get its own international online video viral advertising campaign, just like America's Old Spice Guy from a couple of years ago.
Well, we're sure that's what Go Compare are hoping for, anyway...
