David Cameron Mocked Over Glamour Magazine Interview

Prime Minister, What's Your Favourite Shade Of Lip Gloss?

David Cameron was mocked today on micro-blogging site Twitter after it carried live updates of an interview he carried out with a glossy women's magazine.

Tweeters questioned how the Prime Minister had time to chat to Glamour before poking fun at the Conservative leader with a raft of quips about cosmetics and clothes.

One site user said the Twitter feed, #glamourNo10, created to update the magazine's readers, appeared to have been "highjacked" after the wave of less than complimentary comments.

Spoof profile PeterMannionMP, named after a character from political satire The Thick Of It, said: "Prime Minister, if you were a shade of lip gloss, what colour would you be?"

Tweeter JohnLehal said: "What moisturiser do you use, do you own a man bag and how on earth have you got time for this Prime Minister?"

Others were more topical, with one asking: "Any recommendations for a *pasty* complexion?", in reference to the recent climbdown on the pasty tax while nart1s asked: "What concealer do you use on your Lib Dem membership, Mr Cameron?" and mikejjennings questioned "Do Dave and Nick exchange beauty tips?".

Some were more personal, including brokenbottleboy who wrote: "What blusher do you recommend? I notice you often get a little red-faced."

The official GlamourMagUK tweets stuck to safer ground, revealing, in between its posts on the hairstyles of popstars Cheryl Cole and Tulisa Contostavlos, that Mr Cameron never wears a watch or a wedding ring.

Mr Cameron's chat with Glamour comes after interviews with Grazia magazine in what has been viewed as a concerted strategy to win back female voters.
