Nokia looks set to unveil the latest generation of its Lumia Windows Phone handsets.
A brace of rumours suggest that the new devices will be unveiled in early September.
According to Bloomberg, Nokia will show the first devices on 5 September, ahead of the likely 12 September release of the iPhone.
The unveiling will be made at the Nokia World conference, Bloomberg said.
Citing "a person with knowledge of the matter", Bloomberg said that the Windows Phone 8 handsets will be announced at the invitation-only conference.
Nokia's Lumia 800 and 900 devices won plaudits on their release for their bold industrial design - but have not yet proven to be a hit with customers.
In its recent earnings announcement, Nokia said it sold four million Lumia smartphone devices, up from two million last quarter.
But it lost around $1bn overall because sales of its other phones fell quicker than the growth of its new lines.
