Adele looks set to pip Rihanna and One Direction to the number one spot this weekend with the new James Bond single.
The Barbadian singer and the boyband may have been thinking it would have been a clear fight between them for the top spot this weekend as they released their new tracks Diamonds and Live While We're Young at the start of the week.
But the combination of Adele and 007 seems to have been irresistible and fans have headed online in their thousands to snap up a copy of Skyfall, which only went on sale at 0.07am on Friday morning.
Co-written by Rolling in the Deep collaborator Paul Epworth, the song combines Adele's powerful vocals with the drama expected of 007.
If the song does top the charts it will be the first time that a Bond single has hit the top of the charts, with Shirley Bassey's Diamonds Are Forever only reaching number 38 and Wings' Live and Let Die only getting to number seven.
And if topping the charts yet again is not enough for the singer, she is also expecting the arrival of her first child in the coming weeks.
