Doom:One Remake Of ID's Classic FPS Includes Continuous Levels, Heavy Metal, Iron Sights (VIDEO)

WATCH: Doom Remastered

Doom was one of the most influential and popular video games of all time on its release 20 years ago in 1993 - and it was also one of the most technically advanced. Sadly, time hasn't been kind to its pixelated, jerky motion form - although when we played it again recently we still preferred it to the 3D Doom 3.

In an effort to preserve its best bits, however - boosted with new lighting, graphics, "iron sights" (zoom-in aiming) and continuous levels, modder AdamClare87 has rebuilt the game virtually from the ground up.

Doom:One is a totally new version of the classic FPS, in the fine tradition of enhanced Doom mods, with all the above features as well as new secrets, a fully remade metal soundtrack and more besides. We've copied the first full playthrough video above for your enjoyment. If you're into it, download the beta version of the software.
