Nokia: A History Of Weird Devices, In Pictures (SLIDESHOW)

So it's happened - Microsoft has bought Nokia's handset division. There will never be another Nokia phone.

To be fair, the company's financial situation has made such a deal all but inevitable for some time. But before it's completed in 2014, let's take a moment to remember the good times.

In the past the Finnish company has been responsible for some of the strangest and most bizarre designs ever to make it out of an R&D lab and onto the market.

Remember the phone shaped like a tube of lipstick? The teardrop phone with the keypad wrapped around the screen - or the Matrix phone, which seemed intentionally designed to make you look like an idiot?

On the other hand a lot of people bought Nokia phones - and a lot still love them. Some of their designs - old and new - are classics, and worth celebrating.

Take a look at our slideshow of Nokia through the ages below, and let us know: what was your favourite Nokia device?
