A woman has died after falling from a bridge over the M6 near Birmingham.
Police said they had received reports that the woman had jumped from the bridge at 4.24am on Friday, over the motorway at Great Barr.
Traffic police closed the M6 in both directions.
A police spokesman said: "Officers and colleagues from the ambulance service attended and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

"All southbound lanes have now reopened. However, the motorway remains closed northbound between junctions seven and eight."
