Cristiano Ronaldo dedicated his two goals for Real Madrid on Monday to Portuguese legend, Eusebio, who died at the weekend.
Ronaldo salutes Eusebio after scoring for Real Madrid against Celta Vigo
The 28-year-old struck twice during Madrid's 3-0 win over Celta Viga to record a career landmark of 400 goals for club and country.
"I want to thank everyone, especially to all the people in Spain for the homage they have paid to Eusebio. For the Portuguese it is very important to feel the warmth shown by the Spanish people," said Ronaldo, NDTV Sports reported.
"He was someone who was very close to me and obviously my goals today were dedicated to him."
Real's victory moved them to within five points of La Liga leaders Barcelona and second-placed Atletico Madrid.
Whilst a minute's silence was held before the match at the Santiago Bernabeu, a video showed Eusebio with Ronaldo and other Real Madrid heroes such as Alfredo di Stefano.
