The snubs for this year's Academy Awards have been announced.

They include Idris Elba, snubbed for 'Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom', Oprah Winfrey (snubbed for 'The Butler') and Tom Hanks, who was snubbed for his title role in 'Captain Phillips' - a film which also received a snub for its director, Paul Greengrass.

Other actors snubbed at Thursday's announcement in Los Angeles included Emma Thompson for 'Saving Mr Banks', Joaquin Phoenix for 'Her' and Robert Redford for 'All Is Lost'.

The snubs for Best Picture, meanwhile, included 'Inside Llewyn Davis' and 'Rush'. The latter leads the pack with the greatest number of snubs, not receiving a single nomination in any category.

Don't forget to tune into the 86th Academy Awards on 2 March to find out which of the nominees will then be snubbed.
