Pennsylvania's Punxsutawney Phil, immortalised in the Bill Murray classic and great 'Groundhog Day', had some bad news for Americans today.

He's aged well since the 1993 film
He saw his shadow meaning six more weeks of winter - not a good thing given the freezing conditions of the 'Polar Vortex' that has blighted much of the continent.
Similar ceremonies occur across the US and Canada but Punxsutawney's is the most well known and goes back to 1841 (see the video above for more info).
