Two people got an earlier than expected postal delivery when a Royal Mail lorry crashed into the side of a house in Hampshire.
The couple had to be rescued from the first floor of the house after the accident in Gosport at 6am. The driver is said to be shaken but unhurt.
The road remains closed between Eastbourne Avenue and Elson Road after the incident on the A34.
The accident has resulted in a rash of postal quips on Twitter, not all of them first class:
