Three gym-goers were injured on Wednesday when part of a ceiling collapsed onto a section of rowing machines.
Two woman and a man were treated at the scene for minor injuries with one of them taken to hospital with back pain, reports getwestlondon.
The incident happened at the Virgin Active Chiswick Park club in West London.
Phil Waugh, 29, who works above the gym told the Evening Standard: "There was a massive thud or thump.
"We thought someone had dropped a huge weight they were trying to lift as the gym can get quite noisy. It was a shock to find out what actually happened."
A Virgin Active spokeswoman said : "This morning at our Chiswick Park club part of a suspended ceiling came down onto the gym floor.
"Three club members were treated for minor injuries by an ambulance crew and we understand that one of them was subsequently taken to hospital as a precaution.
"The safety and well-being of our members and staff is our utmost priority, and as such the club will remain closed while we investigate further.
"We apologise for any inconvenience this will cause our members, and we are working to reopen the club as soon as possible."
