Hero Cat That Saved Boy 'Throws' First Pitch At Baseball Game

Hero Cat Tara 'Throws' First Pitch At Baseball (PICTURES)

Heroic Tara, the cat who saved a four-year-old boy from a dog attack in California, had the honour of "throwing" the first pitch at a baseball game.

Tara sprang to the rescue when she barged into a dog that attempted to drag away Jeremy Triantafilo from his bicycle.

CCTV footage was uploaded onto YouTube last week, and the video has received over 21 million hits.

So Tara had the unenviable privilege of attempting to throw a ball at Bakersfield Blaze's stadium with her paw. This proved problematic, so the ball was pulled along with fishing wire to give the illusion of it flying through the air.

The fish wire trick was unsuccessful

Bakersfield said the attendance figure for the Lancaster Jethawks fixture was nearly triple that of a usual Tuesday night match.

Jeremy's mother, Erica, beamed: "Being the mother, every time I watch (the video) it stops my heart for a moment.

"Things could have been much worse without her. We're just so thankful."
