George Michael has been rushed to hospital after falling ill at his London home, though the nature of his illness has not been revealed.
The incident, which occurred last Thursday, saw two ambulances rush to the singer’s Highgate home, where paramedics reportedly spent four hours with George before taking him to hospital.
George’s rep has declined to comment on his mystery ailment, simply stating: “George Michael was in hospital for routine tests but there is nothing further to say”.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson has also confirmed the incident, saying: “We were called just before 8am on May 22. We sent two ambulance crews and staff treated one patient, a man, who was then taken to hospital”.
George has suffered a number of health problems in the past and nearly died of pneumonia in 2011.
Later that year, the former Wham! star cancelled a series of Royal Albert Hall concerts after falling ill with a viral infection.
While promoting the album he gave his first print interview in five years, in which he stated that he hadn’t touched any drugs in 18 months.
