Porn Star Christy Mack's First Images Of Recovery Since Alleged Beating By Boyfriend 'War Machine' Jon Koppenhaver

'I Feel Beautiful For The First Time In A Long Time'

A porn star who received horrific injuries she alleges were inflicted by her former boyfriend has revealed encouraging pictures illustrating her recovery.

Christy Mack was hospitalised in Las Vegas a month ago after sustaining numerous broken bones, a ruptured liver and cuts from a kitchen knife.

She has had several surgeries and continues to receive medical treatment, though she has left hospital.

On Sunday Mack, who says she was attacked in her home by former boyfriend and MMA fighter Jon ‘War Machine’ Koppenhaver, posted a series of new pictures on Twitter and Instagram.

The 23-year-old also issued a statement in which she revealed she is lucky to still have vision in her left eye after the attack and that she expects to regain movement in her top lip in around six months time.

Mack, whose injuries included 18 broken bones around her eyes and two breaks to her nose said she is still visiting a dentist to help make eating more comfortable and to make her smile look “more normal”.

She wrote: “While my face is starting to look decent again from the swelling going down, it is still not my own.

“Cutting what was left of my hair off, and losing 15 lbs (it’s a lot when you’re 5’1”) made me feel even further away from myself. It’s hard to look in the mirror every day and see someone you do not know.”

Mack also revealed she had made her first public appearance since the attack at a charity event for Face Forward, a group that helps pay for reconstructive surgeries for victims of violence.

She added: “After having makeup done and dressing up for yesterday’s charity event, I feel much better about how I look now. It made me feel more normal, and beautiful for the first time in a very long time.”

A month ago, Mack tweeted images of her injuries from her hospital bed

War Machine, who legally changed his name from Jonathan Koppenhaver, fled and spent a week on the run after allegedly assaulting Mack.

War Machine was arrested in California on 15 August and extradited to Las Vegas where earlier this month he pleaded not guilty to 32 charges, including kidnapping, coercion, burglary, sexual assault, battery, strangulation and two counts of attempted murder.

Among her injuries were 18 broken bones around her eyes and a ruptured liver

Last week, KSNV reported that police responded to the wrong home when Mack first called 911 and the phone disconnected. The person living at that address tried to direct police to the right home, but they didn't follow it up.

After a second 911 call from a neighbour, it took police 17 minutes to respond - or 2 hours and 23 minutes after Mack's original disconnected 911 call, the station said, citing sources close to the investigation.
