Alfie Moon’s world could be about to come crashing down around him in ‘EastEnders’, after police arrive to question him over a fire that broke out at his home.
Viewers have seen Alfie (played by soap star Shane Richie) on something of a downward spiral in recent months, losing his market stall and landing himself in a whole lot of debt right around the birth of his twin sons, Bert and Ernie.

To try and get himself out of the red, he came up with a plan to burn down his family home and claim the insurance money, though his plan took a drastic turn for the worst when he realised his wife Kat (Jessie Wallace) was still in the vicinity, landing her in hospital.
During Monday night’s show, viewers will see Alfie sink even deeper into his woes when he is led away in a car by the police, to face questioning about the incident.

‘EastEnders’ fans will already know from Friday night’s show that Alfie was shocked to learn that Tosh has gone to the police - could the truth about the blaze be about to come to light?
Following her injuries in the fire, Jessie has already teased viewers with the news that as the storyline unfolds, viewers will see a noticeable shift in Kat, one of Albert Square’s most recognisable characters.
The actress previously told Digital Spy: "It will be such a departure from how we know Kat now - the tart with the heart and the heavy make-up. She will become the complete opposite to that. It is heartbreaking."
Tune into ‘EastEnders’ on Monday, 22 September to see how Alfie copes under pressure.
