Just in case the future generally, and wearable technology wasn't already unsettling enough for you, get ready for gadgets that harvest energy directly from your veins.
Or rather, get ready for a conceptual design for something absolutely horrifying that doesn't, technically, exist.
The idea by graduate design student Naomi Kizhner - intended as a "speculative piece" to inspired "discussion" - revolves around the idea of powering tech with human energy. The point is not so much to propose a real new direction for gadgets, but to ask how willing we are to go to keep our tech powered.
She writes on her website:
"The work delves into a world in which there is a significant decline, which forces humanity to seek all the more forcefully for alternative ways of cultivating power. The suggested solution to the dilemma is based on the idea of biological wealth, harvesting energy directly from the body."
