The European Space Agency’s mission to land Philea on the 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko comet sparked Studio Swine’s interest in astronomical material.

After visiting the meteorite collection at London's Natural History Museum the decision was made to make a pair of high heel shoes out of aluminium foam (a material that looks comet-like but is incredibly light). Swine had never made shoes before so the learning curve was steep.

Researching and convincing fabricators to collaborate meant a lot of rushing around town, but the Surface Pro 3’s ability to run powerful creative suites on a device that’s light and carries like a sketchbook was hugely beneficial for working on the move.
