David Cameron told radio presenter Shelagh Fogarty she could grill him as "hot as you like", as he explained why he would not take part in a head-to-head debate with Ed Miliband
The prime minister has been criticised for refusing to take part in the three election debates proposed by the broadcasters. Instead he wants just one featuring leaders of seven political parties.
He told Fogarty on LBC this afternoon that he thought interviews between journalists and a single politician were more informative than debates.
"I like having a ding-dong with you," Cameron said. "Let's come back onto LBC and other radio stations and you can, you know, grill me as hot as you like."
Fogarty replied wit ha nervous laugh: "Ok"
