Kylie Minogue is no stranger to throwing a bit of glitter on a classic pop hit to make it her own and she was at it again during a recent appearance at Germany’s Melt festival.

And as the 47-year-old singer was in the land of sausages and beer, she treated the audience to her own take on one of Germany’s biggest homegrown hits - Nena’s 1983 global hit, ‘99 Red Balloons’ - or ‘99 Luftballons’ to give it its proper German title.
Alas, Kyles stopped short of singing the whole thing in German (and apologised for doing so) but her rendition in English (with a little help from some lyrical prompts and a red balloon, natch) will still have you all misty-eyed if you’re of a certain age.
