'Loose Women' 'Legends' Denise Welch, Carol Vorderman And Carol McGiffin To Launch Rival Channel 5 Series?

Former ‘Loose Women’ panellists Carol McGiffin and Denise Welch are reportedly close to signing a deal with Channel 5, to launch their own rival daytime show.

It has been claimed that bosses are hoping to recruit several other ‘Loose Women’ “legends”, including Carol Vorderman and Jane McDonald, to join the new ITV series, thought to be hitting our screens next year.

A source tells The Mirror: “The most viewed line-up on Loose Women was always Vorders, Denise, Carol and Jane. They were legends and Lisa Maxwell was also loved.

“Since they resigned the show’s audience has almost halved. Channel 5 want to make a new fun show recreating the magic the girls had before ITV changed the format.”

The insider adds: "The girls are still best of friends and it would make a cracking watch."

The only re-union we want to happen more than the Spice Girls...

Over the past two years, several ‘Loose Women’ favourites have dropped out of the show, including Denise, Carol and Lisa.

At the time, Denise said her departure was due to producers making a number of changes to the format of 'Loose Women' that she felt she should have been consulted about beforehand, as one of the longest-serving panellists.

Since then, she's become involved in a public war of words with Myleene Klass, after she claimed in an interview that 'Loose Women' had become too "rant-y" and "post-menopausal" before her arrival.

The news of the potential Channel 5 series comes after it was claimed that Carol, Denise and Lisa were planning to tour the UK with their own show, which would include a mix of acting and story-telling from their ‘Loose Women’ days.
