Ruth And Eamonn Speak Out On Awkward David Cassidy Interview

Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford have spoken out against David Cassidy, following their awkward interview with the US singer on ‘This Morning’.

The husband and wife TV duo were on the receiving end of abuse from David, as they spoke to him about his financial difficulties on the ITV daytime show earlier this month.

David appeared agitated and angry and accused Eamonn and Ruth of trying to “rubbish” him for asking about his recent bankruptcy.

"He knew what was he was there for, I spoke to him in the break, then suddenly he didn't know what he was there for."

Eamonn added that he regarded the interview as being up there with with his infamous car crash interview with David Blaine, where the magician remained silent and refused to answer any questions.

Ruth also said that she was saddened to see the ‘How Can I Be Sure’ singer in such a state on TV, branding the interview a “rollercoaster” to get through.

When the interview first aired on 11 September, fellow ‘This Morning’ host Phillip Schofield also tweeted his shock at the interview.

“Yikes! #DavidCassidy such a shame to see him like this on @itvthismorning tough chat for @RuthieeL & @EamonnHolmes,” he wrote.
