Some simple posters of lemons have sent the music world into a spin, as fans are speculating over a possible announcement from the Stone Roses.
Posters featuring the Stone Roses’ iconic lemon design have popped up across Manchester, prompting talk of whether a third album from Ian Brown and co. could be on the way.
While there’s been no official word on when an announcement is due, one shopkeeper in the city’s Northern Quarter told the Manchester Evening News that they were "sworn to secrecy about an announcement due in the next 24 hours”.
With news apparently imminent, Twitter has gone into overdrive:
Big Stone Roses announcement this afternoon. Be gigs I reckon and maybe some new music. Rather excited even at 44! Never leaves you a? 😉— Jonny Owen (@JonnyOwenFilm) November 2, 2015

Just heard there's gonna be some Stone Roses gigs next year, possibly a tour!!— Georgi Chase (@GeorgiChase) November 2, 2015
Of course, not everyone is taking it entirely seriously:
I'm really hoping that this Stone Roses annoucement isn't that Keith Lemon has joined the band. pic.twitter.com/ER1LTVst0k— David Owens (@asoundreaction) November 2, 2015
I'd howl if this Stone Roses announcement was just saying that Ian Brown's going in to the I'm a Celebrity jungle— The GB (@GabzBenony96) November 2, 2015
Stone Roses recently reunited for a world tour, following two huge Heaton Park shows. However, they haven’t released any new material since 1994’s ‘The Second Coming’.
Their tour was documented by ‘This Is England’ creator Shane Meadows, and his film ‘Made Of Stone’ received largely positive reviews following its 2013 release.
Watch this space for the big announcement…
