Embattled ANC MP Makhosi Khoza says she is disturbed that her party is disputing death threats levelled against her.
On Monday Khoza made it clear that she was in no position to be interviewed, but said when asked how she was: " Iam doing okay". "I will meet my attorneys and advisers tomorrow because we have to assess the situation."
"I am okay but I am also very disturbed by the ANC disputing these facts (of her death threats)...I don't know why the ANC is disputing these things."
She made reference to a video posted on Facebook last week which showed ANC bodyguards carrying high-powered assault rifles and threatening to kill someone.
"There are also (images of) those trigger-happy people that have been doing the rounds on Facebook who are bodyguards of certain cadres who are also in the disciplinary hearings," Khoza said.
Khoza was charged by the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal for ill-discipline and bringing the party into disrepute after she continuously made calls for President Jacob Zuma to step down. She has also allegedly received death threats as result of her public statements against Zuma.
Her disciplinary hearing was set down for Sunday but it was postponed for a week after she failed to show up.
In a statement, the ANC in KZN said Khoza's legal representative, Smanga Sethene, asked for a postponement to prepare arguments and said Khoza was absent because she had received new threats on Saturday evening.
Khoza took to Facebook on Saturday to say that the time of the hearing changed at short notice, a change which could result in increased security risks.
But the ANC slammed her comments in a press release on Sunday.
"Due to the consistent, constant and gravely distorted public pronouncements of comrade Makhosi Khoza it is appropriate for the ANC to provide correct and factual accounts of the proceedings," it said.
"Once again, (it is) an indisputable fact, and evidence contained in all correspondences between the Provincial Disciplinary Committee and comrade Makhosi Khoza confirms this, that the hearing was set for Sunday, 10 September 2017."
