Boroughmuir High School in Edinburgh has reopened following a hoax bomb call to the police.Pupils in S1 to S4 were relocated to nearby St Oswald's Hall and Bruntsfield Primary School while S5 and S6 were told to go home and report to the Dominion cinema at noon for a trip. An official-looking notice appeared on McMaster University's student e-mail system saying all final exams had been postponed until next month.The notice was an April Fool's hoax dressed up as an official communication from the university.University spokesperson Andrea Farquhar said it appears students were able to see through the hoax, given the timing and the text of the notice, which is riddled with errors. Rizvi College in Bandra, India, received a call from an unknown person, stating that a bomb had been planted inside one of its classrooms. An environmental law class at George Washington University took their midterm a week later than planned, after a student’s hoax email postponed the test.The email informed students their exam would be postponed in light of “scheduling conflicts.” It was signed by professor Dan Jacobs, but he later told students that he did not know who was behind it. Some pupils at JFS school, North London, went to extraordinary lengths to make sure they got a snow day.As snow fell, a hack took down the JFS site - leaving parents unable to check whether the school would remain open in the further snow.After the site went down, students are alleged to have created a fake email, purportedly sent from JFS, informing parents that the school was closed due to heavy snow.
