WHO? Margaret Howell

IN A NUTSHELL: Set to a sound track of Joni Mitchell and the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds, Howell took us on a trip to the Cornish Riviera, with clean and crisp separates and a 50s vibe.

BEG, BORROW OR STEAL: No one makes a white shirt like Ms Howell, and we loved the button up version teamed with demure white A-line skirt and scarlet pout. The Yves Klein Blue and flashes of raspberry were a welcome addition to the label's normally restrained palette.

VERDICT: There is something reassuring about Margaret Howell's cool, elegant and timeless approach to dressing - true, she merely tinkers with her formula from season to season, but it's not broke, why bother fixing it?
