Gaming is also getting a big boost. After patiently waiting a year, all those titles that were announced along with the nxt-gen consoles are finally arriving and they're all turning up now.

So to make sure you're picking the best list possible here's our speculative Christmas preview, showcasing the biggest and most influential tech and game launches that we can expect to see in the next few months.

Both the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3 were already pre-confirmed thanks to Apple's ultra-predictable launch schedule. What we didn't know was that Apple might actually be thinking about launching them early. With the iPad Mini Retina proving to be one of the company's most successful tablets it seems logical that Apple is looking to shave a few millimeters and shed a few pounds.
When?
Latest gossip within the industry suggests that Apple could be launching an all-new iPad Mini within the next few weeks, and if not weeks then very certainly within the next month or so.

The Nexus range has become one of Google's staple products. The Nexus 5 proving to be the surprise hit of last year it showed consumers that you didn't need to spend a fortune to own a phone that could compete with the iPhone or the Galaxy S3. Well it's that time of year again and it looks like Google could be heading back into the world of tablets as well with reports suggesting that you'll see a Google Nexus 6 and Nexus 8 both released before Christmas.
When?
With the rumoured Motorola Nexus 6 (X) already leaked and strong reports coming in around a HTC-built Nexus 8 tablet we'd probably expect to see both arriving before the end of November.

Amazon knows how to time its launches we'll give them that. Even if it's struggling under a wave of critical reviews for the Fire Phone the company has once again shown that when it comes to eReaders, it knows what it's doing. The Voyage is Amazon's new flagship eReader. With a textured glass display that mimics the feel of paper and a new touch-sensitive page-turning bezel the Voyage is the accumulation of everything the company has learnt from building the Kindle. It has a new high-resolution screen and an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts the updated backlit display.
When?
You can pre-order the Kindle Voyage for £169 with a release date set for early November.

Love it or hate it, Android Wear is here to stay and LG is embracing it with full gusto. The G Watch R is the company's second Android Wear watch and includes improvements across the board. Firstly there's the new design. A slick black all-metal frame surrounds a completely circular display. This is a smart watch that will only become a smart watch when you want it to. Until then it's a stylish timepiece. Even if you're not sure about Android Wear the good news is that this is just the start, so expect updates to massively improve its functionality.
When?
LG is still remaining coy about an exact date but they've listed Q4 making this the perfect Christmas timepiece for the tech-savvy.
