Greenpeace has unveiled its 2016 'Detox Catwalk' - a list of fashion brands making the effort to clean up their supply chains and also those failing to do so.

Over 70 major clothing labels made a commitment to Greenpeace to remove toxic chemicals from their supply chains completely by 2020, and the new report monitors their progress towards this goal.

The charity have now published their Detox ranking online, featuring 19 fashion and sportswear companies in order of progress. So how do your favourite high street stores measure up?

H&M, Benetton and Inditex - which owns several brands including Zara, Pull & Bear, Massimo Dutti and Bershka - were in the top category, described as “Detox committed companies that are ahead of the field”.

In the second ranking, featuring companies who are “committed to Detox and have made progress implementing their plans, but their actions need to evolve faster”, brands included Mango, Adidas, Burberry, Primark, Levis, Puma and M&S.

The final, and lowest scorings were for the labels “which originally made a Detox commitment but are currently heading in the wrong direction”, and included Nike, Espirit and Limited Brands - which owns Victoria’s Secret and La Senza.
