A Fresher's Guide To The City of Norwich

Congratulations, you've accepted a place at the University of East Anglia.

You may now gleefully look forward to three years of 'Pimp My Barrow', lakeside barbecues and, of course, semi-regular appearances from Radio One's Greg James. Here are our tips for making the most of your time as a student in the fine city of Norwich.

Open 24 hours and a short walk from campus it may be, but buying all your groceries from the Tesco Express on Earlham Green Lane will mean your student loan is soon a distant memory. Order online from ASDA or head to the Sainsbury or Morrisons in the City Centre instead. (credit:Google Maps)

When it comes to nightlife, don't just stick to the Student Union (UEA's LCR). Those who venture off campus will be rewarded with a greater variety of music (and places for post-night out munch!). Try Gonzo's tea room, a boutique coffee bar by day and live music and party venue by night... (credit:Gonzo's Tea Room/ Facebook)
