Gamescom 2014 is underway, and the big companies are already rolling through their press announcements with the fanfare and production values of a major election campaign.

According to Sony the upcoming 2.0 software update for PS4 will allow players to "pass the controller" to other players online -- for any game, even if the other person doesn't own it. If you're playing FIFA 15 you can pass the controller to a mate on the other side of town, and watch him play, even if she hasn't bought the game yet. The other player wouldn't even need to buy the game first. Neat!

An iPad and Android tablet version of the toys/games franchise will be out later this year.
PlayStation Now Is Coming To The UK In 2015(05 of08)

The UK will get Sony's new games streaming service in 2015, and will benefit from a beta test before the rest of Europe. The service will be expected to launch in full by the end of 2015 but Sony says it wants to make sure the quality is consistently good before making the leap.
