You Can Actually Make Cocktails From Guinness (And They Taste Really Good)

When some people think of Guinness they think of trying it once, hating it and never looking back. But the folks over at the Dublin brewery are so keen to turn that around, they've been knocking out recipes for some truly delicious concoctions to make you love a bit of the black stuff.

Guinness Cocktails (LIST)
Black Velvet(01 of06)

Ingredients
  • 1 part Guinness draught
  • 1 part Champagne
  • Splash of Cassis (to taste)

Method
Start by mixing the Cassis with the Guinness to increase the density of the Guinness. Slowly pour the Guinness/Cassis mix down the side of a champagne flute until it half fills the glass. Top with Champagne, poured over a bar spoon.

Dublin Cherry Cheer Cocktail(02 of06)

Ingredients
  • 100ml Guinness Dublin Porter
  • 20ml Amaretto
  • 20ml Cherry Heering liquer

Method
Make sure all ingredients are well chilled. Mix and serve over ice.

Golden Tales Cocktail(03 of06)

Ingredients
  • 25ml Crown Royal Whisky
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Canadian maple syrup
  • 10ml Fresh lime juice
  • 75ml Guinness Golden Ale

Method
Mix all cocktail ingredients together and pour over some cubed ice in a jam jar. Then top with maple syrup foam.

Syrup foam recipe
  • 100ml Maple syrup
  • 2 Sachets of egg white
  • 10ml Lemon juice
  • 6 Teaspoons of caster sugar
  • 180ml Cold water

Method
Place all of the ingredients into a 1/2 litre siphon and charge with two N20 canisters. Shake vigorously and then leave in the fridge. When you are ready to serve, dispense some of the maple syrup foam on top of the cocktail and garnish with a mini caramel wafer.

West Indies Pearter Cocktail(04 of06)

Ingredients
  • 50ml Guinness West Indies Porter
  • 35ml Rye Whiskey
  • 10ml Cinnamon syrup
  • 10ml fresh lemon juice
  • 5ml spiced pear syrup
  • 2 dashes cocktail bitters

Method
Make sure all ingredients are well chilled. Mix and serve over ice in a short glass.

Guinness Bloody Mary(05 of06)

Ingredients
  • 50ml Ketel One vodka
  • 150ml tomato juice
  • 2 pinches celery salt
  • 2 pinches pepper
  • Seafood seasoning
  • 2 dashes hot sauce
  • 2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 squeeze lemon
  • 60ml Guinness draught

Method
Add all the ingredients except the Guinness into an ice filled cocktail shaker. Shake gently and strain into an ice filled glass. Top off the drink with Guinness draught and garnish with a celery stalk and lime wedge.

  • 1 shot of White Crème De Menthe
  • 1 bottle of Guinness Extra Stout

Method
Pour White Crème De Menthe into an ice filled glass. Top with a bottle of Guinness Extra Stout and enjoy how the chocolate notes in the Guinness complement the refreshing mint flavour.
