Walking Sandals, But Make It Fashion: 5 Teva-Inspired Styles To Shop Now

They're back in, somehow.

Every year a new trend (or five) rolls around that’s questionable, whether it’s skinny 90s sunglasses, chunky platform trainers or the surprising renaissance of the bucket hat. This summer we’re seeing the classic hiking sandal stride back into fashion. Think velcro straps and padded soles.

Why you may ask? Your guess is as good as ours. Even Chanel has made a pair, if you have £710 to spare.

The original hiking sandal was created by Teva, a brand that’s been around since the 80s but is now available on Asos. Fun fact: the original Teva shoe design came from “humble beginnings”: an old Velcro watch strap attached to a flip flop.

Now in 2019, it’s made the leap from outdoor essential to a fashion crowd favourite, with pretty much every shop on the high street offering similar styles.

We’re still not convinced by the aesthetics but we’re all for championing comfort for our feet – even if we’re more likely to be walking around a festival than hiking up a mountain.

So, here, we’ve rounded up our favourite Teva-inspired sandals to ensure sore feet and blisters are a thing of the past this summer.
