In her show notes, Alice Temperley explained that her Autumn/Winter 2013 show, "Byrds", was inspired by Hitchcock's Hedren. "She is an alpha female with a darker side but still luxuriously chic and ultra feminine, whose wish is to live life to the fullest", she writes.

"Chic" is almost an understatement. The tailoring was exquisite, the fabrics were luxe (cashmere, wool, jacquard) and the crystal-studded gowns were nothing short of stunning. The colour palette? After a series of black and ivory checks and stripes, emerald and ink prints were introduced, before flashes of gold closed the show. There were sheepskin coats worn over chunky knitwear and polo-necks tucked into A-line skirts but over all, each look was impeccably sleek and always glamorous.

As for the all-important accessories, the "ultra feminine" looks were complete with a super slick, twisted updo, a pair of Charlotte Olympia heels and Cutler & Gross' tortoiseshell sunglasses. Make way for the new Hedren.
