Notch, the creator of Minecraft, has released a new game - and it's likely to annoy you unless you're really confident in your touch typing.

'Drop' is a simple 3D webgame in which a spinning list of letters rotates into place as you type them. Unless you keep up a smooth rate of typing and make no errors, the cube will angrily flare up and dump you back at zero points.

Notch - who has earned millions of dollars from the success of Minecraft, which alone has sold 20 million copies, said that he was inspired by games like 2.5-D platformer Fez and the puzzle-action game Super Hexagon - as well as the ceiling of his flat.

In a recent interview with the New Yorker Notch admitted that "I’m starting to feel writer’s block as a result" of the success.

"I’m not sure if it’s pressure to repeat… Actually, it is the pressure to repeat. And with Minecraft it was just easier, because nobody knew who I was. Now I post a new idea and millions of people scrutinize it. There’s a conflict between the joy of being able to do whatever I want and the remarkable pressure of a watching world. I don’t know how to switch it off."

Head over to the Drop website to play the game for free, and let us know on Twitter how well you got on.
