Newbie to YouTube

I am faced with three months of having little planned and so this seemed like the perfect time to really get into this project. If you need a reminder, this is my list of twenty things to do while 20, which I have added to and the full list is now here.

I, like so many students before me, am well practised in the art of procrastinating. It has reached the point where I will literally lie in bed and stare in to space to avoid doing work. It is on this note that I apologise for not having posted a blog update sooner. However, unlike so many other students, my summer is not filled with exciting travelling plans of life changing experience and finding out who I really am while at the same drinking in gargantuan proportions.

I am faced with three months of having little planned and so this seemed like the perfect time to really get into this project. If you need a reminder, this is my list of twenty things to do while 20, which I have added to and the full list is now here:

1. Try coffee

2. Go on a road trip

3. Glastonbury

4. Stay up all night and watch the sun rise

5. Hot air balloon ride

6. Volunteer work

7. Read more 'classic' books

8. Start writing a book that I intend to finish

9. Go out for breakfast

10. Travel somewhere I've never been to before (within Europe)

11. Make a roast dinner. Including a joint of meat, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, carrots, parsnips, and peas.

12. Learn how to play a song on the ukulele

13. Upload videos to YouTube

14. Try sushi

15. Learn to knit

16. Begin regular exercise

17. Say yes to everything for a day

18. An all day movie marathon

19. Go to the theatre

20. Is a surprise that I will let you know once completed

Now I have done a couple of these things on here but I am planning on changing this over the next few months, and getting a lot done.

I can now tick of uploading videos to YouTube, which is actually another reason why I've taken a while to upload a blog. I was waiting until I make something more of my channel and develop more of the ideas I've had but I've become impatient with myself wanting to share it with you. So here you are: a link to my channel

And if you really can't be bothered to click on a link, I'll share my most recent video with you.

I started off making videos of just myself talking to a camera but didn't really feel like I was gaining much from it. As well as this, after applying for an ungodly amount of work experience and being rejected or hearing nothing back at all, I thought I would give myself the experience and start making my channel more journalistic. The only frustrating thing is I know how to use better software but I don't have access to it, but I am trying to improve my filming and editing technique with each new video I make.

I've wanted to try my hand at uploading videos since I first started using the site five years ago, but I was always terrified to. In honesty, it's still intimidating having them up there. But after being taught how to film and edit as part of a broadcast journalism module at my university, it reminded me of how much enjoyment I get from film. It gave me the basic knowledge and confidence I needed to give video making a go.

Speaking of film, up next is the all-day movie marathon. I have no idea why I've always wanted to do this, again I think it's one of these things I thought was really cool when I was younger. My brother has agreed to watch The Hobbit, and all three extended Lord of the Rings with me. I am not ashamed to admit that I am excited, and already planning the snacks. So look out for that update in the next few days. If you've ever attempted it, let me know in the comments.
