'Mario Kart 8' is almost out for the Nintendo Wii U, and it's the best video game we've played in a long time.
So why did Nintendo have to go and spoil it all with one horrible advert?
Well, maybe it's not quite that bad. But it's close.
As part of a new tie-in with Mercedes - in which Mario Kart players will be able to drive a real Mercedes-style kart in the near future, Nintendo produced the above clip in which an 8-bit version of the kart completes the first level of Super Mario Bros. All very sweet and pleasant. Until it bursts into real life and a horrible, disturbing real life version of Mario steps out of the car.
Seriously, it's worse than Bob Hoskins' version.
