Panasonic IFA 2014: The Unexpected Beauty Of Cookers, Hair Driers And 4K TVs

14 Pictures Proving The Unexpected Beauty Of Home Electronics

The word 'electronics' implies so much that is dull, ugly and brutal about the modern world.

But if you look at it in the right way, it can be far more than that.

We recently took a trip around Panasonic's stand at the IFA tech conference in Berlin, to check out their new line-up of hair driers, shavers, cookers and cameras (we know, we know...). But what we found was something unexpectedly beautiful - pristine, shiny tech, looking the best it ever will, just set up for the cameras.

So here is our alternative look at Panasonic's unfathomably wide range of products (they also make the batteries in the Tesla S, dontcha know...) along with snippets of our interview with UK MD and HuffPost blogger Andrew Denham.

This is actually a hair drier - and a smart one. Denham explains that the brand, which is new in the UK but already available in Boots, uses some kind of technical ion magic to make hair feel great. We'll take his word for it, but it looks like an alien space craft.
Nano E Face Steamer(02 of14)

This little thing? That'll steam your face all nice and proper, and give a deep sense of cleaning.
Panasonic Shaver(03 of14)

Panasonic isn't known for making shavers - but Denham says these models make use of the company's vaunted battery tech and so will have a leg-up over the Brauns and Phillipses of the world when they hit retailers in the UK.
Induction Hob(04 of14)

Panasonic makes a huge range of induction hobs - including a new model (just a concept for now) which lets you place your pan anywhere on the surface and it'll just heat that area. This is what they look like inside.

Sort of looks like a Pacman ghost right? TOTALLY intentional. We presume.

This component of Panasonic's new crispier fridges looks haunting in the right light.

Panasonic even makes a mixer which works on an induction hob, so you don't have to plug it in.

This is the detail of the new HDX-1000 camcorder which can record to an SD card at 60FPS in 4K.
Auto Stirrer(10 of14)

This little thing sits in your pan on an induction hob and stirs the stuff inside, with magnets. Amazing.
Panasonic 4K TV(11 of14)

That's not a window. The view on the right is actually made by Panasonic's new AX900 4K TV. Wowzers.
