Disney's latest film, The Princess and the Frog, has been welcomed as a return to traditional cartoon making, as the company reverts to hand drawn animation rather than creating everything in the computer.

However, it's still a modern film, and that means a whole raft of merchandising, including games for the Wii and Nintendo DS.

We were sent a preview of the Wii game, so let's take a look at what this princess has to offer.

The first thing that you will notice is that for a princess-themed game, for once it isn't wall to wall pink. In fact, the colours are quite dark, meaning that older girls and boys will be interested too. My six-year-old son enjoyed playing it, and he would normally run a mile from anything too 'girlified'.

Like the Toy Story Wii game, this is a series of mini-games rather than one over-all quest. You don't need to have seen the film to be able to follow the game, though I think that this will appeal most to children who've enjoyed the film and want to carry on getting involved in Tiana's world at home. The story of the game continues after the story of the film, so it does move the adventure along as we find out what happened next. The voices are done by the original actors from the film, adding to the authenticity and sense of continuity with the film. As well as the mini-games, which you have to complete to help Tiana build her dream restaurant, there are other activities on offer: you can unlock new outfits for Tiana, play a cooking mini-game, or sing along to the film's songs, karaoke-style.

All in all, the game has a lot to offer fans of the film who just want the story to keep on going.
