Every girl wants her wedding to be magical and many brides spend months, even years planning their perfect day. Once all the big things on the list are ticked off, don't fall at the last hurdle and forget the little things that can make the day you get married run, well, without a hitch! Confetti Editor, Belinda Hanks, offers her essential bride must-haves for the big day. Don't leave for the church without them!

It's a great idea to carry a pretty little bridal bag, or ask your bridesmaids to carry one for you. So, here's what to take with you on the day:

1. Lip Gloss: Your emergency bridal kit needs this most essential item!

2. Face powder: A good translucent face powder to reapply make-up in case of unavoidable perspiring.

3. Comfortable shoes: It has to be the most essential bridal accessory of them all. But if you really can't let go of those killer heels, then be sure to bring a pair of cute fold-away flats for the reception. Top tip: Wear your wedding shoes around the house to break them in. Believe me, you'll be glad you did.

4. Tissues: Ideal for blotting sweaty face and runny nose.

5. A compact mirror: Who wants to have to get up and go to the ladies room every time they need to touch up their make-up? A handy compact will allow you to check for makeup smudges and reapply.

6. Spare stockings/tights: Just in case of ladders and especially if wearing short dress.

7. Blusher: There is every need for brides to reapply blusher for the evening reception

8. Hairbrush: Fold-up brushes can be worth their weight in gold. Ideal for bridal purses or for your bridesmaid to fit into hers - life savers after an exuberant dance!

9. Waterproof mascara: On the most emotional day of your life, it makes sense. Nothing more to say.

10. An umbrella: Ok it won't fit in the bag, but if you're getting married in the UK, don't underestimate the British weather and make sure you're covered with umbrellas! Even if the sun is shining they still look fantastic and make a great wedding photo prop.
