For the majority of students working part-time, a Christmas bonus is about as realistic as Santa Claus.

But, now you're settled into to your first job, and that moment when a tidy sum of money is plonked into your bank account is drawing closer, it's time to have a think about what to spend it on..

Prime Burger's just opened up at Euston Station and it serves what claims to be London's first truffle burger, complete with truffle-infused cheese and truffle aioli. And to complete the decadence, top it off with truffle fries.

The restaurant serves up shakes, and of course no burger joint would be complete without onion rings - or onion strings as they're known here.

Tuck right in.

A must for any musical theatre fans, Archer Street offers up cocktails complete with crowing waiters and waitresses.

Not only does the West End bar serve up some seriously good cocktails - the ginger Ed Sheeran number is incredible - staff have some seriously impressive vocals to boot.

Taking inspiration from the Indian Royal Courts, award-winning chef Abdul Yaseen's new Darbaar restaurant in the City is a must on your to-do list.

There's an interactive grill seating area, a 220-cover restaurant and bar, and we haven't even got to the food yet. Considering the impeccably high standard, it's actually not going to make that much dent in your bank balance.

High fives all round.
Fill your boots with a Sunday roast(04 of04)

Previously voted best Sunday lunch in the Observer Food Monthly awards, Hawksmoor's Sunday roast is not for the faint-hearted. The slabs of thick, juicy beef, smothered with lashings of bone marrow gravy and nestled between a bigger-than-your-hand Yorkshire pudding and duck fat roasties, mean it's practically a necessity that you skip breakfast to fit it all in. It'd be a crying shame to pass on the steak tartare starter too - rich, fresh meat with a deliciously salty tang and topped with a creamy raw egg, it's the best way to get you fired up for the meaty main course. It's tradition to pair your meat with a suitable wine, but the cocktails are so good here all thoughts of that go out the window. Opt for the butter-infused bourbon; a drink that's basically a grown-up alcoholic version of a Wether's Original (read: incredible), or the marmalade gin number; refreshing, tangy, and with a suitably punchy kick. If you've still got room, then dig into the desserts, or if you've already loosened your belt a couple notches then just settle on tickling your tastebuds with some delightful apple brandy.Make sure you book a table - it gets busy for good reason.
